What does a 32:9 aspect ratio mean?
The frame is about 3.5556 times as wide as it is high. A 32:9 desktop can provide the horizontal workspace of two equal 16:9 panels without a center bezel.
3840 × 1080 and 5120 × 1440 are exact 32:9 sizes. Aspect ratio describes shape, not quality: increasing both dimensions preserves the same composition while adding pixels.
How to calculate 32:9 dimensions

Crop, fit or resize?
Resize both dimensions proportionally when the source already matches 32:9. If it does not, filling the frame crops part of the source; fitting preserves everything but leaves unused canvas space. Never change only width or height, because that stretches the image.
